The historic site is the first Shaker settlement in America. Our September 'welcome back' meeting will be held in the beautiful meeting room in the White Meeting House.
CARPOOL by 11AM at Elm Avenue Park and Ride (Cherry and the Delmar Bypass). Directions will be provided.
POTLUCK LUNCH: Please bring vegetable salad, fruit salad, appetizer or bread. The hostess committee will provide desserts and beverages. Guests are welcome.
BRIEF MEETING: Please notify me if you have announcements or questions. Membership booklets will be distributed, highlighting the exciting 2019-20 programs.
PROGRAM: Lorraine Weiss, Education Coordinator, will share highlights of the Shakers, their love of gardening, and will answer our questions. The Shakers were the first people to sell garden seeds commercially and the first to create envelope-style decorated seed packets. You are welcome to visit the museum room where you may take pictures in Shaker apparel and visit a lovely gift shop for holiday shopping.
